CACTUS TRUCK – Krakow Jazz Autumn

The band creates incredibly intense music, with influences drawn from Delta blues, no wave, early free jazz and Japanese noise music, as well as Albert Ayler and Peter Brötzmann.

Cactus Truck was founded in Amsterdam by a group of three relatively young musicians: bass and guitar player Jasper Stadhouders, drummer  Onno Govaert, and American saxophonist John Dikeman.

Since the spring of 2010 they have played in nearly every European country, and since 2012 –  almost 40 gigs in the US alone.

They have collaborated with Jeb Bishop, Dave Rempis, Ab Baars and Han Bennink, among others.

The band have recorded some albums adored by critics and fans alike, and their memorable performances, especially the ones for the more seasoned audiences of Europe’s biggest festivals of improvised music, had always been met with incredible enthusiasm.

Cactus Truck’s first show in Poland on stage at Alchemia will certainly be an amazing experience – all the more so that the band will premier their new album.
