The best sounds don’t always come out of a prepared scenario. Musicians who boldly improvise with sound know this well. We will get to know these artists during a series of shows called Polish Improvised Music. It debuted in 2013 and was warmly received by the audience of Kraków Jazz Autumn, which is dedicated both to the stars of improvisation, and to promising newcomers. The Polish Improvised Music series focuses on the most intriguing initiatives and projects of Polish musicians. Get ready for three shows.

The 9th Krakow Jazz Autumn
The band creates incredibly intense music, with influences drawn from Delta blues, no wave, early free jazz and Japanese noise music, as well as Albert Ayler and Peter Brötzmann.
The programme of the Krakow Jazz Autumn is set, for the ninth time, to provide lovers of improvised music with a multitude of unforgettable concerts, workshops and other music-related events. Most of the planned concerts are the Polish premieres of new projects by recognised stars of the international improvised music scene.
This year, the ninth Kraków Jazz Autumn kicks off with a bang! The incredibly popular (cult even, as some claim) Dutch outfit The Ex will be performing on an open stage in Plac Nowy. Look forward to an incredibly powerful mix of punk rock, Ethiopian rhythms, free jazz solos on brass instruments, and sophisticated lyrics.
