The Klezmatics have repeatedly played to the audience of the Jewish Culture Festival, becoming one of the pillars of its 27-year history. The group was founded in 1986 in New York City and was one of the pioneers of the revival of Jewish music in the United States. They have been awarded a Grammy for the album “Wonder Wheel” (2006) and have cooperated with outstanding musicians such as Itzhak Perlman and Chava Alberstein. The Klezmatics phenomenon lies in a unique combination of traditional elements of Yiddishland music with an explosive stylistic mix consisting of rock’n’roll, jazz, funk, pop, gospel. Their enormous popularity is the result of a recognizable sound and skilful combination of the Klezmer tradition with modern sensibility. This is why The Klezmatics speak a language understood around the world.
