Peter Brötzmann / Steve Noble / Jason Adasiewicz Trio

A combination of two projects in which Brötzmann has been involved in recent years. His collaboration with Steve Noble dates back to 2010. The German saxophonist united ranks with drummer Noble and double bassist John Edwards: the result of their work together, which began with a few electrifying shows at London’s Cafe OTO, was the album …The Worse The Better (2010). A year later, Brötzmann crossed paths with Jason Adasiewicz, Chicago’s leading vibraphonist. Their show at New York’s Vision Festival in 2011 resulted in a joint tour.

Live, the musicians have an almost telepathic connection, as the artists themselves and those who had the opportunity to hear them testify. “Unrepeatable moments of collective inspiration”, as a Sunday Times journalist put it.

Steve Noble

A student of the Nigerian master percussionist Elkan Ogunde. In the 80s, he was a part of Rip Rig + Panic together with Neneh Cherry. He traveled the length and breadth of Europe, steadily gaining experience. Since then, Noble has collaborated with Derek Bailey, Lol Coxhill, Ikue Mori and Tristan Honsinger, among others. He also composes film music and runs his own label Ping Pong Productions.

Jason Adasiewcz

A member of the Chicago jazz scene, Adasiewicz has no equal among young vibraphonists: has has been repeatedly recognized by Down Beat Magazine as star-material. He has collaborated with artists such as Rob Mazurek’s Exploding Star Orchestra and Nicole Mitchell Ice Crystal Quartet. Adasiewicz is also known for his effervescent improvisation skills.
